Omnicef (Omnicef) is in a group of drugs called cephalosporin (SEF a low spor in) antibiotics. It works by fighting bacteria in your body. Omnicef is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria. Omnicef may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide

Do not take Omnicef O 200 Tablet 10's if you are allergic to Omnicef O 200 Tablet 10's or other macrolide antibiotics. Hypersensitivity reactions including shock and fatalities have been reported with Omnicef O 200 Tablet 10's. Discontinue use if there is a reaction and reach out to your doctor immediately. Tell your doctor if you have liver problems (jaundice), muscle problem (myasthenia gravis), heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia), electrolyte imbalance (low potassium or magnesium level). In rare case, use of Omnicef O 200 Tablet 10's can cause diarrhoea, so in case if you have watery or bloody diarrhoea, stop taking Omnicef O 200 Tablet 10's and call your doctor. However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. It is not known whether Omnicef O 200 Tablet 10's harms the baby in pregnancy or not. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding before using Omnicef O 200 Tablet 10's.
