Information about Meprate Tablet

Description:

Meprate Injection is used to prevent pregnancy. It is a birth control method that works by stopping a woman's egg from fully developing each month. The egg can no longer accept a sperm and fertilization is prevented. No contraceptive method is 100 percent effective. Birth control methods such as having surgery to become sterile or not having sex are more effective than birth control pills. Discuss your options for birth control with your doctor. Meprate does not prevent AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases. It will not help as emergency contraception, such as after unprotected sexual contact. Meprate Injection is also used with other medicines to help relieve symptoms of inoperable, recurrent, and metastatic (cancer that has already spread) endometrial or kidney cancer. Meprate is to be administered only by or under the immediate supervision of your doctor.

Uses / Indications:

Meprate Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: Irregular menstrual periods Abnormal uterine bleeding Infrequent menstrual periods Abnormal bleeding from the uterus Irregular menstruation Irregular menstrual cycle Meprate Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed here.

Interactions / Warnings:

Meprate Tablet 10's with estrogen should not be used to prevent heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, or dementia. Using Meprate Tablet 10's with estrogen may increase the chance of getting heart attacks, strokes, breast cancer, and blood clots. In some cases, the use of Meprate Tablet 10's with estrogen may produce dementia among women age 65 and older. Do not use Meprate Tablet 10's if you are allergic to peanuts, have unusual vaginal bleeding, have or had any type of cancers (breast or uterus cancer), or undergoing estrogen plus progestin treatment. Tell your doctor before using Meprate Tablet 10's if you have had a heart attack, stroke, blood clot, liver problems, kidney problems, pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to get pregnant, asthma (wheezing), epilepsy (seizures), diabetes, migraine, endometriosis, lupus, heart problems, thyroid, or have high calcium levels in your blood. Use caution while driving a motor vehicle as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. If you are using Meprate Tablet 10's before any lab tests or biopsies tell your doctor about this as it can affect the report values. Diagnostic tests of blood coagulation, thyroid, cholesterol, and glucose metabolism result might be affected in people using Meprate Tablet 10's.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Meprate: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have: vaginal bleeding if you have already gone through menopause, a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out, a breast lump, symptoms of depression (sleep problems, dizziness, mood changes, headache), fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet, heart attack symptoms--chest pain or pressure, pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder, Nausea, sweating, signs of a stroke--sudden numbness or weakness (especially on one side of the body), sudden severe headache, slurred speech, problems with vision or balance, signs of a blood clot in the lung--chest pain, sudden cough, wheezing, rapid breathing, coughing up blood or signs of a blood clot in your leg--pain, swelling, warmth, or redness in one or both legs. Common Meprate side effects may include: spotting or breakthrough bleeding, changes in your menstrual periods, vaginal itching or discharge, breast tenderness or discharge, headache, dizziness, feeling nervous or depressed, bruising or swelling of your veins, premenstrual type symptoms (bloating, fluid retention, mood changes), sleep problems (insomnia), itching, rash, acne, hair growth, loss of scalp hair, stomach discomfort, bloating, Nausea, weight gain or vision changes and difficulty wearing contact lenses.

Medicine interaction:

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Meprate Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Meprate Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products: Acitretin Amprenavir Bexarotene Boceprevir Bosentan Bridion Etretinate Fosamprenavir Isotretinoin Mycophenolic acid
