Tagon is a medicine for short term treatment of women who have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with constipation (not enough or hard bowel movements) as their main bowel problem. Tagon is also used to treat women younger than 55 years of age who have chronic constipation with an unknown cause. Tagon increases the movement of stools (bowel movement) through the bowels. Tagon does not cure irritable bowel syndrome. Tagon decreases pain and discomfort in the abdominal area, bloating, and constipation. If you stop taking Tagon your irritable bowel syndrome symptoms may return in one to two weeks. Tagon is available only for use in emergency situations.

Tagon 20 Tablet 15's should not be taken if you are allergic to Tagon 20 Tablet 15's or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting Tagon 20 Tablet 15's. Safety and efficacy of Tagon 20 Tablet 15's in children have not been established, so it should not be given to them. Prolonged intake of Tagon 20 Tablet 15's may cause acute pancreatitis (swollen pancreas). Increased risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) can occur when Tagon 20 Tablet 15's is added to other anti-diabetic agents or insulin therapy. In this case, your doctor may adjust the dose of Tagon 20 Tablet 15's. Severe allergic reactions might occur in some patients taking Tagon 20 Tablet 15's like anaphylaxis, angioedema (swelling under the skin), and exfoliative skin conditions. Tagon 20 Tablet 15's should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes and for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.
