Description:

Forxiga is an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels. Forxiga works by helping the kidneys get rid of glucose from your bloodstream. Forxiga is used together with diet and exercise to treat type 2 diabetes. Forxiga is not for treating type 1 diabetes.

Uses / Indications:

Forxiga Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: Type 2 diabetes mellitus, Type 2 diabetes.

Interactions / Warnings:

Tell your doctor if you are allergic to Forxiga 10 mg Tablet 14's and other medicines, have severe kidney disease, high ketone levels in blood or urine, heart disease, congestive heart failure, liver disease or you are using insulin or other oral diabetes medications. Forxiga 10 mg Tablet 14's, when used with other diabetes medications, may extremely lower the blood sugar level leading to hypoglycemia condition, which can be fatal. Your doctor may adjust the dose by lowering the dose of other diabetes medicine or Forxiga 10 mg Tablet 14's in this case. A person should keep taking Forxiga 10 mg Tablet 14's even if they are feeling that their blood sugar levels are under control as it may again spike the level of sugar in the blood. You should take small frequent meals and don't fast while being treated with Forxiga 10 mg Tablet 14's. Try to notice if you are developing the symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) like sweating, dizziness, dry mouth, dry skin, palpitations, shivering, intense thirst, frequent urination. If you notice any of the mentioned symptoms, then immediately take honey/sugar candies and consult with a physician.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Forxiga: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have: a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out, blood in your urine, bright red urine, painful or difficult urination, urinating more than usual, ketoacidosis (too much acid in the blood) - Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, confusion, unusual drowsiness, or trouble breathing, dehydration symptoms - feeling very thirsty or hot, being unable to urinate, heavy sweating, or hot and dry skin, kidney problems - little or no urinating, swelling in your feet or ankles, feeling tired or short of breath, signs of a bladder infection - pain or burning when you urinate, urine that looks cloudy, pain in pelvis or back or signs of a genital infection (penis or vagina) - pain, burning, itching, rash, redness, odor, or discharge. Side effects may be more likely to occur in older adults. Common Forxiga side effects may include: sore throat, stuffy nose, flu symptoms, Nausea or back pain.

Medicine interaction:

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Forxiga Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Forxiga Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products: Acetaminophen, Albuterol, Celecoxib, Cholecalciferol, Exenatide, Glucose, Glycerin, Insulin glargine, Ipratropium, Liraglutide.
