Description:

DaparyI is an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels. Dapagliflozin works by helping the kidneys get rid of glucose from your bloodstream. Dapagliflozin is used together with diet and exercise to treat type 2 diabetes. Dapagliflozin is not for treating type 1 diabetes.

Uses / Indications:

Daparyl 10 Tablet 10's belongs to the category of medicines called 'anti-diabetic' primarily used for the management and treatment of type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a condition that occurs when there is either less insulin or available insulin is not properly utilized by our body cells for lowering raised blood glucose. It is the most common type of diabetes, accounting for around 90% of total diabetes cases found commonly in middle-aged people. So it is also called adult-onset diabetes or non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM).

Interactions / Warnings:

Tell your doctor if you are allergic to Daparyl 10 Tablet 10's and other medicines, have severe kidney disease, high ketone levels in blood or urine, heart disease, congestive heart failure, liver disease or you are using insulin or other oral diabetes medications. Daparyl 10 Tablet 10's, when used with other diabetes medications, may extremely lower the blood sugar level leading to hypoglycemia condition, which can be fatal. Your doctor may adjust the dose by lowering the dose of other diabetes medicine or Daparyl 10 Tablet 10's in this case. A person should keep taking Daparyl 10 Tablet 10's even if they are feeling that their blood sugar levels are under control as it may again spike the level of sugar in the blood. You should take small frequent meals and don't fast while being treated with Daparyl 10 Tablet 10's. Try to notice if you are developing the symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) like sweating, dizziness, dry mouth, dry skin, palpitations, shivering, intense thirst, frequent urination. If you notice any of the mentioned symptoms, then immediately take honey/sugar candies and consult with a physician.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to DaparyI : hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have: a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out, blood in your urine, bright red urine, painful or difficult urination, urinating more than usual, ketoacidosis (too much acid in the blood) - Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, confusion, unusual drowsiness, or trouble breathing, dehydration symptoms - feeling very thirsty or hot, being unable to urinate, heavy sweating, or hot and dry skin, kidney problems - little or no urinating, swelling in your feet or ankles, feeling tired or short of breath, signs of a bladder infection - pain or burning when you urinate, urine that looks cloudy, pain in pelvis or back or signs of a genital infection (penis or vagina) - pain, burning, itching, rash, redness, odor, or discharge. Side effects may be more likely to occur in older adults. Common Dapagliflozin side effects may include: sore throat, stuffy nose, flu symptoms, Nausea or back pain.

Medicine interaction:

Daparyl 10 Tablet 10's interacts with diuretics (furosemide, amiloride, hydrochlorothiazide), muscle relaxant (baclofen), medicine for enlarged prostate (tamsulosin), antiparkinson's (levodopa), antibiotics (gatifloxacin), heart-related medicines (amlodipine, bisoprolol) and other antidiabetic drugs (glipizide, glimepiride).
