Dapaglyn M 1000 mg tablet is a combination of two anti-diabetic medications, used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. Each film coated Dapaglyn M 1000 mg tablet contains Dapagliflozin Propanedion monohydrate eq. to Dapagliflozin 10 mg, Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg (In extended release form). Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, inhibits the SGLT2 co-transporter, which leads to lower reabsorption of filtered glucose into the body and decreases the renal threshold for glucose (RTG), leading to increased glucose excretion in the urine. Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycaemic agent which improves glucose tolerance by lowering both basal and postprandial plasma glucose. It decreases hepatic glucose production, delays intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity by enhancing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.

Inform your doctor if you take other antidiabetic drugs so that the dosage of DAPAGLYN M 1000 TABLETS 15'S will be adjusted accordingly. Do not abruptly stop taking DAPAGLYN M 1000 TABLETS 15'S midway if the doctor did not advise you. DAPAGLYN M 1000 TABLETS 15'S may cause hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar); hence it is advised to make healthy food with enough calories and avoid heavy exercises. Brief your medical history to doctor if you have any heart, kidney or liver diseases, breathing problems (asthma, obstructive lung diseases), blood problems like anaemia (lack of blood cells), vitamin B12 deficiency, pancreas problems/surgery, dehydration, alcohol use, low blood pressure, and yeast infection of genitals before taking DAPAGLYN M 1000 TABLETS 15'S. Avoid alcohol intake while using DAPAGLYN M 1000 TABLETS 15'S since it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis. DAPAGLYN M 1000 TABLETS 15'S is not recommended for use during the second or third trimester of pregnancy and breastfeeding. Your doctor may advise alternate medications to control your diabetic condition in such cases. DAPAGLYN M 1000 TABLETS 15'S is not recommended for people younger than 18 years of age.
