Enapril is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure can reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Enapril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by blocking a substance in the body that causes the blood vessels to tighten. As a result, Enapril relaxes the blood vessels. This lowers blood pressure and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart. Enapril is also used in combination with other medicines to treat congestive heart failure and cut down on the number of hospital visits for heart problems.

Enapril-2.5 Tablet 15's should not be given to the people allergic to Enapril-2.5 Tablet 15's, have low blood pressure (less than 90 mm of Hg), have had a heart attack, kidney disease, liver disease, pregnant women or planning to get pregnant and breastfeeding women. Besides this, tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure (hypotension), heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, or currently on dailysis. Enapril-2.5 Tablet 15's is not recommended in neonates and children with worse kidney functioning (glomerular filtration rate <30 mL/min). Level of raised bilirubin has been reported in some cases, so patients with liver diseases (like cirrhosis, jaundice, yellowing of skin/eye etc.) should take Enapril-2.5 Tablet 15's with caution. Do not take Enapril-2.5 Tablet 15's with alcohol as it may cause low blood pressure (hypotension) with symptoms of dizziness, drowsiness, weariness, or sleepiness. Tell your doctor that, you are using Enapril-2.5 Tablet 15's before undergoing any dental or other surgery. Your doctor might stop this medicine before surgery.
