Montair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Montair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. Montair is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm in adults and children who are at least 6 years old. Montair is also used to treat symptoms of year-round (perennial) allergies in adults and children who are at least 6 months old. It is also used to treat symptoms of seasonal allergies in adults and children who are at least 2 years old. Do not give this medicine to a child without a doctor's advice. Montair is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (narrowing of the air passages in the lungs) in adults and teenagers who are at least 15 years old and are not already taking this medicine for other conditions. If you already take Montair to prevent asthma or allergy symptoms, do not use an extra dose to treat exercise-induced bronchoconstriction. Montair may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Do not take Montair 4 mg Chewable Tablet 15's if you are allergic to Montair 4 mg Chewable Tablet 15's or any of its ingredients. If you have any mental disorder, inform your doctor before starting Montair 4 mg Chewable Tablet 15's as Montair 4 mg Chewable Tablet 15's can cause mood changes (symptoms include anxiety, aggressive behaviour, irritability, restlessness). Sometimes you might feel depressed. Inform your doctor if you feel any of these symptoms. It is advised to avoid contact with known allergens (allergy-causing agents) such as pollen, dust, etc. Certain food items are known to cause allergies. Concurrent use of Montair 4 mg Chewable Tablet 15's with alcohol or other antidepressants should be avoided to reduce your mental alertness. Even if you are asymptomatic and feel good, do not stop taking Montair 4 mg Chewable Tablet 15's as it stopping abruptly may lead to an acute attack of asthma.
