Flutiflo belongs to the family of medicines known as corticosteroids (cortisone-like medicines). It is used to help prevent the symptoms of asthma. When used regularly every day, inhaled Flutiflo decreases the number and severity of asthma attacks. However, it will not relieve an asthma attack that has already started. Flutiflo must be used with a short-acting medicine (eg, albuterol) for an asthma attack or asthma symptoms that need attention right away. Flutiflo is available only with your doctor's prescription. Once a medicine has been approved for marketing for a certain use, experience may show that it is also useful for other medical problems. Although these uses are not included in the product labeling, Flutiflo propionate is used in certain patients with the following medical conditions: Pulmonary disease, chronic obstructive
