Description:

Ambroxol (Doxomax XP) is a cough suppressant and expectorant combination. The cough suppressant works in the brain to help decrease the cough reflex to reduce a dry cough. The expectorant works by loosening mucus and lung secretions in the chest and making coughs more productive.
Uses / Indications:
Doxomax XP Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
Asthma, Acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated with abnormal mucus secretion, Acute sore throat, Thickened mucus cough, Respiratory tract diseases, Breath shortness.
Interactions / Warnings:
Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to medicines. Please inform your doctor if you have any history of heart, liver, and kidney diseases. Also tell your doctor if you have a stomach ulcer, seizure (fits), high blood pressure, and diabetes before taking Doxomax XP Tablet 10's. Doxomax XP Tablet 10's causes hypokalaemia (low potassium levels in the blood), therefore should be used with caution in patients with bronchospasm. Special precautions should be taken in patients with hyperthyroidism and epilepsy. Doxomax XP Tablet 10's can cause a rise in blood glucose levels. Hence monitor your blood glucose levels if you have diabetes and inform your doctor so that the dose can be adjusted accordingly. Let your doctor know if you plan to become pregnant or already pregnant and a lactating mother. If you unexpectedly go into early labor or premature labor (before 9 months) or threatened abortion, do not use Doxomax XP Tablet 10's and consult a doctor.
