Description:

Febuxostat is a prescription medicine called a xanthine oxidase inhibitor that reduces the production of uric acid in your body. Uric acid buildup can lead to gout or kidney stones. Febuxostat is used to treat high blood concentrations of uric acid in patients with gout.

Uses / Indications:

Feburic 40 Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: High blood uric acid, Painful joint conditions.

Interactions / Warnings:

You should avoid taking Feburic 40mg Tablet 15's if you are allergic to Feburic 40mg Tablet 15's, have heart-related problems, as it increases the risk of a heart attack. It should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems and blood disorders. Caution is required before taking Feburic 40mg Tablet 15's if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding mother. The safety and effectiveness in children less than 18 years of age have not been established, so Feburic 40mg Tablet 15's should not be given to them.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Febuxostat: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as: chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, Nausea, sweating, general ill feeling, sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body, sudden headache, confusion, problems with vision, speech, or balance or Nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes). Less serious Febuxostat side effects may include: Nausea, joint pain, swelling, or stiffness, mild skin rash or dizziness.

Medicine interaction:

Feburic 40mg Tablet 15's interact with anticancer (mercaptopurine, methotrexate) immunosuppressants (azathioprine), antidiabetic (rosiglitazone), antiasthma (theophylline).
