Information about Zocon 100 Dt Tablet

Description:

Zocon DT is used to treat serious fungal or yeast infections, such as vaginal candidiasis, oropharyngeal candidiasis (thrush, oral thrush), esophageal candidiasis (candida esophagitis), other candida infections (including urinary tract infections, peritonitis [inflammation of the lining of the abdomen or stomach], and infections that may occur in different parts of the body), or fungal (cryptococcal) meningitis. Zocon DT works by killing the fungus or yeast, or preventing its growth. Zocon DT Injection is also used to prevent candidiasis in patients having bone marrow transplants, who receive cancer or radiation treatment. Zocon DT is to be given only by or under the direct supervision of a doctor.

Uses / Indications:

Zocon 100 DT Tablet is used to treat the fungal infection of the vagina (also called, vaginal candidiasis). This medicine works by preventing the formation of an enzyme (ergosterol) which is necessary for the synthesis of the fungal cell wall. Zocon 100 DT is also used to treat fungal infection of mouth, throat, and pharynx. It is also used to treat brain and spinal cord infection (cryptococcal meningitis) in AIDS patients. Zocon 100 DT is also used to prevent fungal infection in patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation who receive radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Zocon 100 DT Tablet is also used to treat urinary tract infection. Zocon 100 DT is also used to treat inflammation of membrane that covers abdominal organs (peritonitis). Zocon 100 DT Tablet is also used to treat pneumonia. Zocon 100 DT is also used to treat fungal infection of the blood (candidemia). Zocon 100 DT Tablet is also used to treat fungal infection of internal body organs such as liver, kidney, brain, and heart (disseminated candidiasis). Zocon 100 DT is also used to treat fungal inflammation of penis head (candidal balanitis).

Interactions / Warnings:

Although there are rare cases of adverse hepatic effects during Zocon DT 100 Tablet 4's treatment, it is advisable to check on possibilities. Severe hepatic reactions like necrosis (death of cells or tissue), clinical hepatitis (inflammation of the liver), cholestasis (reduction or blockage of bile from the liver), and sudden hepatic failure are reported during Zocon DT 100 Tablet 4's therapy. Zocon DT 100 Tablet 4's is associated with liver toxicity, including fatalities in patients with other serious underlying diseases. Treatment with Zocon DT 100 Tablet 4's should be immediately discontinued in such cases. Zocon DT 100 Tablet 4's may also cause heart problems (like irregular heart rhythm), so it should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases. Pregnant or lactating women should consult the doctor before taking this drug. Zocon DT 100 Tablet 4's may not be suitable for some people who have weakened immune system, diabetes, cancer, or low blood magnesium or potassium levels.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Zocon DT: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have: headache with chest pain and severe dizziness, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeats, fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms, easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness, seizure (convulsions), liver problems--Nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tired feeling, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), skin rash or skin lesions or severe skin reaction--fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain, followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling. Common Zocon DT side effects may include: stomach pain, diarrhea, upset stomach, headache, dizziness or changes in your sense of taste.

Medicine interaction:

Zocon DT 100 Tablet 4's may interact with drugs treating mental illness (pimozide or quetiapine), anti-depressants (reboxetine), antibiotics (erythromycin), ergotamine (to treat migraine or headaches); amiodarone (for heart problems); blood thinners like warfarin; carbamazepine (to treat epilepsy); losartan (used to treat high blood pressure); statins (to treat high levels of cholesterol); anti-diabetic drugs (metformin), and Vitamins B12, Vitamin C, and Vitamin D3.
