Description:

Zifi is used to treat bacterial infections in many different parts of the body It belongs to the class of medicines known as cephalosporin antibiotics It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth However Zifi will not work for colds flu or other virus infections Zifi is available only with your doctor s prescription

Uses / Indications:

Zifi 50 DT Tablet is used to treat certain bacterial infections including urinary tract infections ear infections throat infections including pharyngitis and tonsillitis and sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea that are affecting the urethra and rectum It is a prescription medicine Zifi 50 DT is also used to treat worsening symptoms of severe cases of bronchitis

Interactions / Warnings:

Do not take ZIFI DT 50MG TABLET if you are allergic to ZIFI DT 50MG TABLET or other macrolide antibiotics Hypersensitivity reactions including shock and fatalities have been reported with ZIFI DT 50MG TABLET Discontinue use if there is a reaction and reach out to your doctor immediately Tell your doctor if you have liver problems jaundice muscle problem myasthenia gravis heart rhythm disorder arrhythmia electrolyte imbalance low potassium or magnesium level In rare case use of ZIFI DT 50MG TABLET can cause diarrhoea so in case if you have watery or bloody diarrhoea stop taking ZIFI DT 50MG TABLET and call your doctor However do not take any anti diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you It is not known whether ZIFI DT 50MG TABLET harms the baby in pregnancy or not Consult your doctor if you are pregnant planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding before using ZIFI DT 50MG TABLET

Side Effects:

Along with its needed effects a medicine may cause some unwanted effects Although not all of these side effects may occur if they do occur they may need medical attention Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur More common Diarrhea loose or frequent stools Less common Abdominal or stomach pain agitation black tarry stools bleeding gums blistering peeling or loosening of the skin blood in the urine or stools chest pain chills clay colored stools coma confusion cough dark urine decreased urine output depression difficulty with swallowing dizziness fast heartbeat feeling of discomfort fever general tiredness and weakness headache hives hostility inflammation of the joints irritability itching joint or muscle pain large hive like swelling on the face eyelids lips tongue throat hands legs feet or sex organs lethargy light colored stools loss of appetite lower back or side pain muscle aches muscle twitching Nausea and vomiting painful or difficult urination pale skin pinpoint red spots on the skin puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes face lips or tongue rapid weight gain rash red skin lesions often with a purple center red irritated eyes seizures shortness of breath sore throat sores ulcers or white spots on the lips or in the mouth stupor swelling of the face ankles or hands swollen glands swollen lymph glands tightness in the chest unpleasant breath odor unusual bleeding or bruising unusual tiredness or weakness upper right abdominal or stomach pain vomiting of blood wheezing yellow eyes or skin Incidence not known Abdominal or stomach cramps or tenderness back leg or stomach pains cough or hoarseness coughing up blood diarrhea watery and severe which may also be bloody difficulty with breathing general body swelling increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding increased thirst nosebleeds pain paralysis prolonged bleeding from cuts red or black tarry stools red or dark brown urine sudden decrease in the amount of urine unpleasant breath odor unusual weight loss Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine Also your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them Less common Acid or sour stomach belching bloated excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines full feeling heartburn hives or welts indigestion itching of the vagina or genital area itching or pain of the genital area pain during sexual intercourse passing gas redness of the skin stomach discomfort upset or pain thick white vaginal discharge with no odor or with a mild odor white patches in the mouth or throat or on the tongue white patches with diaper rash Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients If you notice any other effects check with your healthcare professional

Medicine interaction:

ZIFI DT 50MG TABLET may reduce the Activity of the vaccines including cholera vaccine live typhoid vaccine live and Bacillus Calmette Gu rin is used in a solution to stimulate the immune system in the treatment of bladder cancer and as a vaccine to prevent tuberculosis To ensure adequate vaccine response you should not receive any above mentioned vaccine until at least 14 days after you complete your antibiotic therapy ZIFI DT 50MG TABLET can occasionally cause kidney problems and using it with furosemide may increase that risk
