Information about Zenflox Plus 100 Tablet

Description:

Zenflox Plus is used to treat certain bacterial infections in many different parts of the body. It may also be used for other problems as determined by your doctor. Zenflox Plus may mask or delay the symptoms of syphilis. It is not effective against syphilis infections. Zenflox Plus belongs to the class of drugs known as fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, Zenflox Plus will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections. Zenflox Plus is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Uses / Indications:

Zenflox-Plus 100 Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: Bacterial infections Urinary tract infections Otitis media Pharyngitis and tonsillitis Chronic bronchitis exacerbation Gonorrhea Respiratory infections Skin infections Soft tissue infections Sexually transmitted infections

Interactions / Warnings:

You should avoid taking ZENFLOX PLUS 100MG TABLET if you are hypersensitive to ofloxacin, cefixime or other macrolide antibiotics as it may lead to overdose and toxicity. The use of ZENFLOX PLUS 100MG TABLET is only allowed in pregnancy or breastfeeding if clearly suggested by the doctor. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, or breastfeeding before using ZENFLOX PLUS 100MG TABLET. Ofloxacin present in ZENFLOX PLUS 100MG TABLET may cause and aggravate symptoms of existing peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage in legs), tendinitis (swelling or tearing of a tendon), myasthenia gravis (skeletal muscle weakness), and respiratory issues like bronchitis, sinusitis. People with diabetes should contact a doctor before taking ZENFLOX PLUS 100MG TABLET as ZENFLOX PLUS 100MG TABLET can lower your blood sugar level in some cases. Patient with central nervous system disorder or epilepsy (fits) should avoid intake of ZENFLOX PLUS 100MG TABLET as its use is contraindicated for them.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction: hives, or the first sign of a skin rash, fast heartbeats, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Zenflox Plus may cause swelling or tearing of (rupture) a tendon. Zenflox Plus can also have serious effects on your nerves, and may cause permanent nerve damage. Stop taking this medicine and call your doctor at once if you have: signs of tendon rupture--sudden pain, swelling, bruising, tenderness, stiffness, movement problems, or a snapping or popping sound in any of your joints (rest the joint until you receive medical care or instructions) or nerve symptoms--numbness, tingling, burning pain, or being more sensitive to temperature, light touch, or the sense of your body position. Stop using Zenflox Plus and call your doctor at once if you have: headache with chest pain and severe dizziness, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeats, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), muscle weakness or trouble breathing, diarrhea that is watery or bloody, sudden weakness or ill feeling, fever, chills, sore throat, mouth sores, easy bruising or bleeding, depression, confusion, hallucinations, paranoia, tremors, feeling restless or anxious, unusual thoughts or behavior, insomnia, nightmares, seizure (convulsions) or increased pressure inside the skull-- severe headaches, ringing in your ears, dizziness, Nausea, vision problems, pain behind your eyes. Common side effects may include: stomach discomfort, vomiting, mild diarrhea, vaginal itching or discharge, mild dizziness or mild headache.

Medicine interaction:

ZENFLOX PLUS 100MG TABLET should be avoided to be taken with vaccines including typhoid vaccine, cholera vaccine, and Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG vaccine), antiepileptic (carbamazepine), blood thinner (warfarin), antacid and ulcer treating medicine (aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, cimetidine, sucralfate), medicine to treat excess uric acid (probenecid), medicines for arthritis (methotrexate), diuretics/water pills (furosemide), asthma medicine (theophylline) and pain killers (fenbufen, ibuprofen).
