Rcifax (Rcifax) is an antibiotic that fights bacterial infection only in the intestines. Rcifax works differently from other antibiotics because it passes through your stomach and into your intestines without being absorbed into your blood stream. Because Rcifax treats only the intestinal tract, it will not treat infections of other parts of the body. Rcifax is used to treat travelers' diarrhea caused by E. coli in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. Most people get this infection by eating food or drinking fluids that have been contaminated with the E. coli bacteria. Rcifax is also used to treat irritable bowel syndrome in adults whose main symptom is diarrhea. Rcifax is also used to lower the risk of worsened brain function in adults with liver failure. Brain function can be affected when the liver stops working and cannot remove toxic substances from the body.

Do not take Rcifax 400 Tablet 10's if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you have a fever, blood in stools, passed 8 or more unformed stools in last 24 hours, constipation, vomiting, and abdominal pain caused by blockage of the bowel. Talk to your doctor if your condition does not improve, symptoms continue or re-appear even after taking Rcifax 400 Tablet 10's for 3 days. Do not take Rcifax 400 Tablet 10's for more than 3 days unless prescribed; if there is no symptomatic improvement, consult your doctor. Avoid taking Rcifax 400 Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; talk to your doctor, he/she may prescribe you with alternate medicine. Rcifax 400 Tablet 10's is not recommended for children below 12 years of age as the efficacy and safety have not been established. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and about your health condition to rule out any unpleasant side-effects. Patients with liver complications should avoid taking Rcifax 400 Tablet 10's or consult a doctor before using Rcifax 400 Tablet 10's.
