Information about Exel Gn

Description:

Clobetasol Topical (Exel GN) is used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis. Clobetasol Topical (Exel GN) may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.Clobetasol is a topical (for the skin) steroid. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness, and swelling.

Before taking Exel GN Cream 15 gm, let your doctor know if have any fungal infections (candida infections, ringworm or athlete's foot) or any viral infections (herpes or chickenpox), acne, rosacea (redness of the skin with small, red, pus-filled bumps on the face), and psoriasis. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use Exel GN Cream 15 gm with proper consultation and caution. Do not use Exel GN Cream 15 gm on the face and avoid contact with eyes. Do not put a bandage or a dressing on the affected area while using Exel GN Cream 15 gm unless advised by the doctor. Always wash hands before and after application of Exel GN Cream 15 gm.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Although the risk of serious side effects is low when clobetasol topical is applied to the skin, you should be aware of side effects that can occur if the medication is absorbed into your bloodstream. Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have severe irritation of any treated skin, or if you show signs of absorbing clobetasol topical through your skin, such as: blurred vision, or seeing halos around lights, mood changes, sleep problems (insomnia), weight gain, puffiness in your face or muscle weakness, feeling tired. Less serious side effects may include: mild skin rash, itching, burning, or redness, dry or cracking skin, thinning or softening of your skin, skin rash or irritation around your mouth, swollen hair follicles, temporary hair loss, spider veins, changes in color of treated skin, blisters, pimples, or crusting of treated skin or stretch marks.

Medicine interaction:

Exel GN Cream 15 gm may interact with fluid retention drugs (furosemide), antibiotics (bacitracin, polymyxin b), corticosteroids (prednisone), and drugs that lower the immune system (cyclosporine).
