Description:

Solumedrol 1gm Injection belongs to the therapeutic classification of Corticosteroid Hormone Drugs. The primary composition for this medicine is Methylprednisolone 1 GM.

Uses / Indications:

Solu-Medrol Injection is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: Dermatitis Meningitis Crohn's disease Leukemia Arthritis Asthma Tuberculosis Dermatomyositis Polymyositis Organ transplant

Interactions / Warnings:

Inform your doctor before starting Solu-Medrol 1Gm Injection 4 ml if you are allergic to prednisolone or with any corticosteroids, have or had a recent vaccination, infections, stomach ulcer, ulcerative colitis (GI perforation), prematurity problems. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, please consult your doctor to avoid any unwanted harm to the baby. And also, tell your doctor all the OTC drugs you are taking to avoid any contraindications.

Side Effects:

High blood sugar. This most often goes back to normal when drug is stopped. Chance of getting an infection. Wash hands often. Stay away from people with infections, colds, or flu. Belly pain. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Weight gain. Mood changes. Change in body fat. Weak bones with long-term use. Muscle weakness. Skin changes (pimples, stretch marks, slow healing, hair growth). Cataracts or glaucoma with long-term use. For women, vaginal yeast infection. Report itching or discharge.

Medicine interaction:

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Solu-Medrol Injection may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Solu-Medrol Injection may interact with the following drugs and products: Acetylsalicylic acid Clarinathromycin Conivaptan Erythromycin Fosphenytoin Itraconazole Phenytoin Primidone
