Information about Nucort M8 Tablet

Description:

Nucort-M provides relief for inflamed areas of the body. It is used to treat a number of different conditions, such as inflammation (swelling), severe allergies, adrenal problems, arthritis, asthma, blood or bone marrow problems, eye or vision problems, lupus, skin conditions, kidney problems, ulcerative colitis, and flare-ups of multiple sclerosis. Nucort-M is a corticosteroid (cortisone-like medicine or steroid). It works on the immune system to help relieve swelling, redness, itching, and allergic reactions. Nucort-M is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Uses / Indications:

Used to treat various allergic reactions/conditions and inflammation such as joint inflammation (arthritis), breathing problems (e.g. asthma), certain blood disorders, collagen diseases (e.g. lupus), certain eye diseases (e.g. keratitis), cancer (e.g. leukaemia), endocrine problems (e.g. adrenocortical insufficiency), intestinal problems (e.g. ulcerative colitis), swelling due to certain conditions, or skin conditions (e.g. psoriasis). It provides relief by preventing the release of substances that causes inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies. Besides this, it also prescribes for preventing organ rejection after a transplant.

Interactions / Warnings:

Inform your doctor before starting Nucort-M8 Tablet 10's if you are allergic to prednisolone or with any corticosteroids, have or had a recent vaccination, infections, stomach ulcer, ulcerative colitis (GI perforation), prematurity problems. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, please consult your doctor to avoid any unwanted harm to the baby. And also, tell your doctor all the OTC drugs you are taking to avoid any contraindications.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Nucort-M: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have: blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain, or seeing halos around lights, shortness of breath (even with mild exertion), swelling, rapid weight gain, severe depression, changes in personality, unusual thoughts or behavior, new or unusual pain in an arm or leg or in your back, bloody or tarry stools, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds, seizure (convulsions) or low potassium (confusion, uneven heart rate, extreme thirst, increased urination, leg discomfort, muscle weakness or limp feeling). Common Nucort-M side effects may include: headache, mild muscle pain or weakness or stomach discomfort, bloating.

Medicine interaction:

Nucort-M8 Tablet 10's is known to interact with (ibuprofen, naproxen), blood thinners (aspirin), anti-asthma medications (budesonide), water pills (furosemide), blood pressure-lowering pills (lisinopril), pills used for decreasing abnormal excitement in the brain (alprazolam). and bronchodilators (albuterol, ipratropium). So, tell your doctor if you are using these drugs before taking Nucort-M8 Tablet 10's.
