Description:

Each capsule contains Pantoprazole (Pantop D) sodium sesquihydrate equivalent to Pantoprazole (Pantop D) 40 mg as enteric-coated pellets and Domperidone (Pantop D) 30 mg as sustained-release (SR) pellets. It also contains the following excipients: Colors: Lake of indigo carmine, red ferric oxide, yellow ferric oxide and titanium dioxide (approved colors used in capsule shell). Pantop D is a fixed-dose combination of Pantoprazole (Pantop D) and Domperidone (Pantop D).

Uses / Indications:

Pantop D SR Capsule is a prescription medicine that is used to treat backflow of the stomach acid into the food pipe, inflammation of the lining of food pipe, stomach and duodenal ulcers. This medicine contains Pantoprazole and Domperidone. Pantoprazole works by preventing the acid secretion in the stomach. Domperidone works by blocking the brain cell receptors and gives an antiemetic effect. Pantop D SR Capsule is also used to relieve the symptoms of Nausea and vomiting, upper stomach discomfort, indigestion with the feeling of fullness and backflow of food from food pipe to mouth.

Interactions / Warnings:

You should avoid taking Pantop-D SR Capsule 10's if you are allergic to Pantop-D SR Capsule 10's or proton pump inhibitors, have gastric cancer, liver disease, low magnesium level (osteoporosis), low vitamin B12, pregnant or planning for pregnancy, and breastfeeding mothers. Pantop-D SR Capsule 10's may interact with a blood thinner (warfarin), antifungal (ketoconazole), anti-HIV drug (atazanavir, nelfinavir), iron supplements, ampicillin antibiotic, anti-cancer drug (methotrexate). Let your doctor know if you are taking these medicines. Prolonged intake of Pantop-D SR Capsule 10's may cause lupus erythematosus (an inflammatory condition in which the immune system attacks its own tissues), Vitamin B12, and magnesium deficiency. Intake of Pantop-D SR Capsule 10's may mask the symptom of gastric cancer, so if you have any severe stomach pain or gastric bleeding (blood in mucous or stool) immediately consult the doctor.

Side Effects:

Cardiovascular Arrhythmia, CV collapse with hypotension, hypertension, hypotension, palpitations, paresthesia, tachycardia. CNS Anxiety, CNS depression, convulsions, disturbed coordination, dizziness, drowsiness, dysphoria, euphoria, excitability (especially in children), fear, hallucinations, headache, hysteria, insomnia, irritability, nervousness, neuritis, restlessness, sedation, tremor, weakness. Dermatologic Pallor, photosensitivity, pruritus, rash, urticaria. EENT Acute labyrinthitis, blurred vision, diplopia, dryness of nose and throat, tinnitus, visual disturbances. GI Anorexia, constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, GI disturbances, epigastric discomfort, heartburn, Nausea, vomiting. Genitourinary Difficult urination, early menses, polyuria, urinary frequency, urinary retention. Hematologic Agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia. Hypersensitivity Anaphylactic shock. Respiratory Respiratory difficulties, shortness of breath, thickening of bronchial secretions, tightness of chest, wheezing. Miscellaneous Chills, excessive perspiration.

Medicine interaction:

Pantop-D SR Capsule 10's may interact with a blood thinner (clopidogrel, warfarin), antifungal (ketoconazole, voriconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole), anti-HIV drug (atazanavir, nelfinavir), iron supplements, antibiotic (ampicillin, rifampicin), heart medicine (digoxin) and anti-cancer drug (methotrexate). Let your doctor know if you are taking these medicines.
