Nexpro RD strontium is used to treat conditions where there is too much acid in the stomach It is used to treat duodenal and gastric ulcers erosive esophagitis gastroesophageal reflexux disease GERD and the Zollinger Ellison syndrome Nexpro RD is also used with antibiotics eg amoxicillin Clarinathromycin to treat ulcers that are caused by the H pylori bacteria Nexpro RD strontium is also used to prevent stomach ulcers and stomach irritation in patients taking pain and arthritis drugs called NSAIDs such as aspirin or ibuprofen for long periods of time Nexpro RD strontium is a proton pump inhibitor PPI It works by decreasing the amount of acid that is produced by the stomach Nexpro RD strontium is available only with your doctor s prescription

Do not take Nexpro RD 20 Capsule 10 s if you are allergic to any of its contents or other proton pump inhibitors such as pantoprazole rabeprazole lansoprazole or omeprazole if you are taking nelfinavir used to treat HIV if you have prolactinoma tumour of the pituitary gland blockage in intestines bleeding in stomach or intestine moderate to severe liver disease low level of potassium or magnesium or high levels of magnesium and heart problems Inform your doctor before taking Nexpro RD 20 Capsule 10 s if you have severe kidney heart or liver disease or if you are due to have Chromogranin A blood test if you have fungal infections heart problems or HIV infection Talk to your doctor if you experience weight loss problems with swallowing stomach pain indigestion vomit food or blood or if you pass black stools while taking Nexpro RD 20 Capsule 10 s On long term treatment Nexpro RD 20 Capsule 10 s may cause low magnesium levels vitamin B12 levels and increase the risk of bone fractures the doctor may advise regular tests for monitoring your condition Do not take Nexpro RD 20 Capsule 10 s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor Nexpro RD 20 Capsule 10 s may cause dizziness so drive only if you are alert Nexpro RD 20 Capsule 10 s should not be given to children as safety have not been established Avoid consuming alcohol along with Nexpro RD 20 Capsule 10 s as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid A prolonged intake of Nexpro RD 20 Capsule 10 s is linked with a greater risk of Clostridium difficile associated diarrhoea so if you develop diarrhoea that does not improve immediately consult a doctor
