Lactifiber Syrup is a type of sugar that is used to treat constipation. It works by drawing water into the intestine, which makes the stool softer and easier to pass. Lactifiber Syrup should be taken as advised by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food. You may mix it with water or fruit juice if required. Use this medicine regularly to get the most benefit and try to take it at the same time(s) each day. Your dose may go up or down depending on how well it is working. Lactifiber Syrup takes at least 48 hours to work. Talk to your doctor if you are still constipated after three days.

Do not take Lactifiber Syrup 180 ml if you are allergic to any of its contents. Do not take Lactifiber Syrup 180 ml in case of ileostomy or colostomy. Regularly monitor serum electrolytes, blood lactose, and blood glucose levels while taking Lactifiber Syrup 180 ml. Talk to your doctor if there is no bowel movement or if you find rectal bleeding after taking Lactifiber Syrup 180 ml. Do not take Lactifiber Syrup 180 ml if you have galactosemia (galactose indigestion disorder), intestinal obstruction, unexplained abdominal pain, or bleeding. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes or if you have to undergo a colonoscopy. Consult your doctor before taking Lactifiber Syrup 180 ml if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor will prescribe you Lactifiber Syrup 180 ml only if the benefits outweigh the risks. Do not take Lactifiber Syrup 180 ml for more than a week as it may cause dependency on Lactifiber Syrup 180 ml for a bowel movement.
