Description:
Domstal is a medicine that increases the movements or contractions of the stomach and bowel. Domstal is also used to treat Nausea and vomiting caused by other drugs used to treat Parkinson's Disease.
Domstal is to be given only by or under the immediate supervision of your doctor.
Uses / Indications:
Domstal Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms :
Treatment of complex Nausea and vomiting, Treatment of symptoms associated with idiopathic or diabetic gastroparesis, Vomiting, Heartburn, Gas, Filling the stomach, Nausea, Billiousness.
Interactions / Warnings:
Prolonged intake of Domstal 10 Tablet 10's may be associated with an increased risk of heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia) and cardiac arrest (heart attack). This risk may be more likely in the elderly (those over 60 years old) or taking doses higher than 30 mg per day. Tell your doctor if you are using any anti-fungal medicines and/or if you have heart problems or AIDS/HIV. If you experience heart rhythm disorders like palpitations, trouble in breathing, or loss of consciousness after taking Domstal 10 Tablet 10's, immediately contact your doctor. Adolescents (children from 12-18 years of age) who are weighing less than 35 kg should not be given Domstal 10 Tablet 10's.
Side Effects:
Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Symptoms of overdose
Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:
Difficulty in speaking, disorientation, dizziness, fainting, irregular heartbeat, light-headedness, loss of balance or muscle control.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:
Less common:
Loss of balance or muscle control,
swelling of the mouth.
Rare:
Fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse,
swelling of face, hands, lower legs, or feet.
Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
Less common:
Breast milk flowing from the nipple, dry mouth, swelling of the breast in the male, headache, hives, hot flashes, itching of skin, itching, redness, pain, or swelling of eye, menstrual irregularities, pain in the breast.
Rare:
Change in need to urinate, change in appetite, constipation, diarrhea, burning, difficult, or painful urination, difficulty in speaking, dizziness, drowsiness, heartburn, irritability, lack or loss of strength, leg cramps, mental dullness, nervousness, palpitations, sluggishness, stomach cramps, thirst, tiredness, weakness.
Medicine interaction:
Domstal 10 Tablet 10's should not be taken with medicines used to treat heart problems or high blood pressure (amiodarone, dronedarone, quinidine, disopyramide, dofetilide, sotalol, diltiazem, verapamil), depression (citalopram, escitalopram), anti cancer agents (toremifene, vandetanib, vincamine), bacterial infections (specifically erythromycin, Clarinathromycin, telithromycin, moxifloxacin, pentamidine), gastrointestinal disorders (cisapride, dolasetron, prucalopride), antimalarial (halofantrine), neuro related medicines ( haloperidol, pimozide, sertindole), antifungal ( ketoconazole, fluconazole, voriconazole), gastro intestinal drugs ( cisapride, dolasetron, prucalopride) and anti HIV drugs.
