Description:

Jardiance Met are oral diabetes medicines that help control blood sugar levels. Empagliflozin (Jardiance Met) works by helping the kidneys get rid of glucose from your bloodstream. Metformin (Jardiance Met) lowers glucose production in the liver and also causes your intestines to absorb less glucose. Jardiance Met is a combination medicine used together with diet and exercise to treat type 2 diabetes. Empagliflozin (Jardiance Met) is not for treating type 1 diabetes. Jardiance Met may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Uses / Indications:

Jardians Met Tablet is used for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus , Maturity onset diabetes , Type 2 diabetes mellitus , Polycystic ovary syndrome and other conditions . Jardians Met Tablet / Jardiance Met Tablet contains Empagliflozin and Metformin as Active ingredients . The tablet is also available in this form. Interactions / Warnings:

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to Empagliflozin and Metformin; or have other allergies. This product may contain inActive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Jardiance Met 12.5 mg/500 mg Tablet 10's should not be stopped even if you feel better, without consulting your doctor as sugar level keeps changing. If you stop taking Jardiance Met 12.5 mg/500 mg Tablet 10's abruptly, it may increase your sugar levels which could further increase the risk of eyesight loss (retinopathy), kidney (nephropathy), and nerve damage (neuropathy). Jardiance Met 12.5 mg/500 mg Tablet 10's should not be taken if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus, severe kidney, or liver disease. It's generally not recommended to take empagliflozin during pregnancy/breastfeeding. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Jardiance Met 12.5 mg/500 mg Tablet 10's is only for adults (from 18 years). It is not recommended for anyone aged 85 years or older.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Jardiance Met: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Early symptoms of lactic acidosis may get worse over time and this condition can be fatal. Get emergency medical help if you have even mild symptoms: muscle pain or weakness, numb or cold feeling in your arms and legs, trouble breathing, stomach pain, Nausea with vomiting, slow or uneven heart rate, dizziness, or feeling very weak or tired. Call your doctor at once if you have: a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out, dehydration symptoms - feeling very thirsty or hot, being unable to urinate, heavy sweating, or hot and dry skin, signs of a kidney problem - little or no urinating, painful or difficult urination, swelling in your feet or ankles, feeling tired or short of breath, ketoacidosis (too much acid in the blood) - Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, confusion, unusual drowsiness, or trouble breathing, signs of a bladder infection - pain or burning when you urinate, urine that looks cloudy, pain in pelvis or back or signs of a genital infection (penis or vagina) - pain, burning, itching, rash, redness, odor, or discharge. Side effects may be more likely to occur in older adults. Common Jardiance Met side effects may include: bladder infection or genital infection, headache, stomach pain, gas, indigestion, Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness or cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat.

Medicine interaction:

Jardiance Met 12.5 mg/500 mg Tablet 10's may interact with Steroid tablets (e.g. prednisolone), diuretic medications (e.g. furosemide), chest pain medications (e.g. nitrates), muscle relaxants (baclofen), medicines that cause low blood sugar (e.g. insulin, gliclazide). And also, inform all your medical conditions, ongoing therapies to your doctor before prescribing this medication. By considering these, your doctor may check the drug interactions before prescribing this medication.
