Glyxambi combination is used together with proper diet and exercise to treat high blood sugar levels caused by type 2 diabetes. Empagliflozin (Glyxambi) works in the kidneys to prevent absorption of glucose (blood sugar). Linagliptin (Glyxambi) helps to control blood sugar levels by increasing substances in the body that make the pancreas release more insulin. It also signals the liver to stop producing sugar (glucose) when there is too much sugar in the blood. Glyxambi does not help patients who have insulin-dependent or type 1 diabetes. Glyxambi is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to empagliflozin or Linagliptin; or have any other allergies. This product may contain inActive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. If you stop taking Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet 10's abruptly, it may increase your sugar levels which could further increase the risk of eyesight loss (retinopathy), kidney (nephropathy), and nerve damage (neuropathy). Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet 10's should not be taken if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus, severe kidney, or liver disease. Please inform your doctor if you have heart disease or are planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding. It may be harder to control your blood sugar when your body is stressed (such as fever, infection, injury, or surgery). Also, if you are eating less or cannot eat due to these conditions or any illness, this can lead to a high ketone level while taking this medication. Consult your doctor because this may require a change in your treatment plan, medications.
