Dutasteride (Veltam Plus) and Tamsulosin (Veltam Plus) combination is used to treat men who have symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland, which is also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Benign enlargement of the prostate is a problem that can occur in men as they get older. The prostate gland is located below the bladder. When the prostate gland gets larger, certain muscles in the gland get in the way of the tube that drains urine from the bladder. This can cause problems with urinating, such as a need to urinate often, a weak stream when urinating, or a feeling of not being able to empty the bladder completely. Dutasteride (Veltam Plus) blocks the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme changes testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate gland to grow. Dutasteride (Veltam Plus) will cause the size of the prostate to decrease, but the effect lasts only as long as the medicine is taken. If it is stopped, the prostate begins to grow again. Tamsulosin (Veltam Plus) helps relax the muscles in the prostate gland and the opening of the bladder. This may help increase the flow of urine or decrease symptoms. Dutasteride (Veltam Plus) and Tamsulosin (Veltam Plus) is available only with your doctor's prescription. Note: Women of childbearing potential should not use or handle Dutasteride (Veltam Plus) and Tamsulosin (Veltam Plus). Dutasteride (Veltam Plus) can cause birth defects in male fetuses.

Do not take Veltam Plus Tablet 15's if you are allergic to Veltam Plus Tablet 15's or any of the ingredients. Veltam Plus Tablet 15's should not be taken if you have low blood pressure, which makes you feel dizzy, lightheaded or faint, glaucoma. And also, Veltam Plus Tablet 15's should be taken 30 minutes after a meal. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, liver/kidney disease. Before undergoing surgery (cataract), please consult a doctor as you might be advised to stop Veltam Plus Tablet 15's. During sexual intercourse, use a condom as Veltam Plus Tablet 15's is found in semen. Contact your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or plan to get pregnant before taking Veltam Plus Tablet 15's as it may affect the development of male genitals. Also, keep your doctor informed about all the OTC medicines you are using while taking Veltam Plus Tablet 15's. Patients taking Veltam Plus Tablet 15's should be cautioned about driving, operating machinery, or performing hazardous tasks as it can cause drowsiness or dizziness. In rare cases, problems of penis erection, ejaculation, and pain in the penis can occur. So if these symptoms are for a longer time, immediately contact your doctor.
