Description:
Metrogyl Gel is used for Inflammatory papules and pustules of rosacea, Rosacea, Pressure sores, Infections of gum and dental cavities, Anaerobic infections, Chronic periodontal infections, Genital tract infection, Ulcerative gingivitis, Stomach infection, Brain infection and other conditions. Metrogyl Gel may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Metrogyl Gel contains Metronidazole Topical as an Active ingredient.
Metrogyl Gel works by producing the anti-inflammatory effect.
Uses / Indications:
Metrogyl Gel is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
Inflammatory papules and pustules of rosacea
Rosacea
Pressure sores
Infections of gum and dental cavities
Anaerobic infections
Chronic periodontal infections
Genital tract infection
Ulcerative gingivitis
Stomach infection
Brain infection
Interactions / Warnings:
Metrogyl Gel 30 gm should not be used during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. So, let your doctor know if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant. You should not breastfeed while taking Metrogyl Gel 30 gm as it passes into the breastmilk, and can affect the baby. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery after taking Metrogyl Gel 30 gm as it may cause dizziness, drowsiness and make you less alert. Do not take Metrogyl Gel 30 gm if you are allergic to Metrogyl Gel 30 gm or other antibiotics, blood thinners (coumarins, warfarin), anti-epileptic drugs (phenobarbital, phenytoin, primidone), anti-cancer drugs (busulfan, fluorouracil, mycophenolate). You should immediately report to the doctor in case you have symptoms of dehydration like dehydration dry mouth, excessive thirst, wrinkled skin, little or no urination, dizziness and lightheadedness. In some cases, prolonged intake of Metrogyl Gel 30 gm has been associated with leukopenia (low count of white blood cells). Use of Metrogyl Gel 30 gm is contraindicated in the patient suffering from central nervous system (CNS) diseases like seizures (fits). Intake of probiotics, prebiotics and plenty of fluids is recommended if you are suffering from dysentery and diarrhoea.
