Description:

Fucidin Cream is a substance that is used to treat bacterial infections. It will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections. Fucidin Cream is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Uses / Indications:

Fucidin Ointment is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: Bacterial infections

Interactions / Warnings:

Do not use Fucidin Ointment 15 gm if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor before taking Fucidin Ointment 15 gm if you have gall stones, liver or kidney problems, or taking HIV medicines or cholesterol-lowering medicines. Consult your doctor before using Fucidin Ointment 15 gm if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Fucidin Ointment 15 gm in more than prescribed doses, or on a large area of skin for longer duration as it may cause adverse effects. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor. Do not apply Fucidin Ointment 15 gm on children’s skin unless prescribed by the doctor. Consult your doctor if your condition does not improve despite using Fucidin Ointment 15 gm a week.

Side Effects:

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention. Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur: Rare Unusual tiredness or weakness yellow eyes or skin Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them: Less common Loss of appetite Nausea abdominal or stomach pain increase in bowel movements loose stools Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.

Medicine interaction:

Fucidin Ointment 15 gm may interact with cholesterol-lowering medicines (statins), anti-HIV (ritonavir, saquinavir), and blood thinners/anticoagulants.
