Information about Flucort Skin Lotion

Description:

Flucort Skin Lotion is used for Inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, Skin infections, Infections of the skin, Skin disease, Accumulation of fluid in the retina, Inflammation of the eye and other conditions. Flucort Skin Lotion may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. Flucort Skin Lotion contains Fluocinolone Topical as an Active ingredient. Flucort Skin Lotion works by providing relief from inflammatory skin diseases.

Uses / Indications:

Flucort Skin Lotion is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: Inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses Skin infections Infections of the skin Skin disease Accumulation of fluid in the retina Inflammation of the eye

Interactions / Warnings:

Flucort Skin Lotion 30 ml should not be applied to damaged skin or open wounds. It should be used with caution in children as it may delay growth. It can increase your risk of infections as it can suppress the immune system. It should be used with caution in patients with diabetes, liver disease and skin infections. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Side Effects:

The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Flucort Skin Lotion. This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away. Pimples Itching in the eye Burning Itching Irritation Dryness Folliculitis Hypertrichosis Acneiform eruptions Perioral dermatitis Allergic contact dermatitis Skin atrophy Striae Miliaria Flucort Skin Lotion may also cause side-effects not listed here.

Medicine interaction:

Flucort Skin Lotion 30 ml should not be used along with medicine used for diabetes insipidus (desmopressin). It increases the risk of a severe decrease in sodium levels in the blood. It may also interact with blood thinners (nadroparin and bemiparin) and increase the risk of bleeding. When used in combination with a drug that stimulates the immune system (sargramostim), it increases the risk of side-effects. Combining a medication used for the diagnosis of growth hormone deficiency (macimorelin) causes false-positive or false-negative results in the diagnosis of adult growth hormone deficiency.
