Risdone 2 Tablet is a prescription medicine that is used for the treatment and maintenance of severe mental disorder called schizophrenia This medicine works by restricting the Activity of certain natural chemicals in the brain Risdone 2 Tablet is also used for the short term treatment of serious episodes of mood swings bipolar mania to treat irritability associated with the inability to communicate and interact autistic disorder for the short term treatment of persistent aggression in patients with moderate to severe memory loss and for the short term treatment of persistent aggression with antisocial behaviour known as conduct disorder Risdone 2 Tablet may also be used along with other medicines in the treatment of certain conditions as recommended by the doctor It is used with Lithium for the short term treatment of periods of depression and abnormally elevated mood mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder It is also used together with Valproate for the short term treatment of periods of depression and abnormally elevated mood mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder

Interactions / Warnings:

Do not take RISDONE 2MG TABLET if you are allergic to Risperidone or any of its contents Do not take RISDONE 2MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed RISDONE 2MG TABLET causes drowsiness and dizziness do not drive unless you are alert RISDONE 2MG TABLET can be given to children above 10 years if prescribed by the doctor for treating the mental condition like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder Avoid consuming alcohol along with RISDONE 2MG TABLET as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness Rise slowly from sitting or lying position as RISDONE 2MG TABLET causes orthostatic hypotension sudden lowering in blood pressure leading to dizziness on standing Inform your doctor before taking RISDONE 2MG TABLET if you have diabetes as RISDONE 2MG TABLET can cause an increase in blood sugar levels RISDONE 2MG TABLET may not be suitable for people with a history of prolactin dependant breast cancer as RISDONE 2MG TABLET increases the levels of prolactin RISDONE 2MG TABLET should not be used in adults to treat dementia related psychosis

When two or more medicines are taken together it can change how the medicines work and increase the risk of side effects In medical terms this is called as a Drug Interaction Risdone 2 Tablet interacts with levodopa and dopamine agonists which are used to treat a Parkinson s disease When Risdone 2 is used with levodopa and dopamine agonists Risdone 2 blocks the effect of these drugs If the use of Risdone 2 with levodopa and dopamine agonists is necessary the lowest effective dose of each drug should be used to treat end stage Parkinson s disease There may be an interaction of Risdone 2 with drugs with blood pressure lowering effects which are used to treat high blood pressure If Risdone 2 is used with blood pressure lowering drugs it may enhance the blood pressure lowering effect of that drugs Risdone 2 Tablet may interact with drugs acting on central nervous system and alcohol The use of Risdone 2 with drugs acting on central nervous system and alcohol increases the risk of sleepiness or sedation When Risdone 2 is used with other drugs that act on central nervous systems such as opiates antihistamines and benzodiazepines and alcohol caution should be used Your doctor s guidelines may need to be followed while taking this medicine along with clozapine which is used to treat severe mental illness schizophrenia When Risdone 2 and clozapine are used together the clearance of Risdone 2 is reduced Special instructions need to be followed while taking this medicine along with cimetidine and ranitidine which are used to treat stomach ulcers If the Risdone 2 is used with cimetidine and ranitidine the amount of Risdone 2 in the blood increases
