Description:

Colimex is used to treat bacterial infections in many different parts of the body. It belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics. Colimex works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, Colimex will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.

Uses / Indications:

Colimex Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: Irritable bowel syndrome, Periods pain, Headache, Fever, Pain in stomach, Joint pain, Cold, Febrility, Ear pain, Cephalalgia.

Interactions / Warnings:

Taking more than the daily prescribed dose of Colimex Tablet 10's may cause liver damage or allergic reactions like swelling of the mouth, face, throat, difficulty in breathing, skin rash, or itching. Do not take Colimex Tablet 10's if you have asthma or allergies to pain killers, heart, kidney, and liver conditions. Colimex Tablet 10's should not be taken during pregnancy or by breastfeeding mothers as it may affect the baby. You are recommended not to take alcohol along with Colimex Tablet 10's to avoid unpleasant side effects. Taking Colimex Tablet 10's can cause drowsiness or blurred vision; avoid driving or performing any other Activity that requires concentration after taking Colimex Tablet 10's. Always keep your doctor informed about the ongoing medications or the ones you have taken in the past, including over-the-counter medicines and herbal medicines. Life-threatening skin allergic reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), and Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) have been reported with the use of Paracetamol. So, if you observe any skin rashes or blister formation immediately stop taking Colimex Tablet 10's and consult a doctor. Patients taking Colimex Tablet 10's and antivitamin K (blood thinners) should be monitored for appropriate coagulation and bleeding complications.

Side Effects:

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention. Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur: Incidence not known, Blood in the urine, bluish lips or skin, burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings, change in frequency of urination or amount of urine, decrease in amount of urine, difficulty with breathing, drowsiness, fever, increased thirst, loss of appetite, Nausea or vomiting, shortness of breath, slurred speech, swelling of the feet or lower legs, tightness in the chest, tingling of the arms, legs, and tongue, troubled breathing, weakness, wheezing, Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:, Symptoms of overdose, Dizziness, mood or mental changes, shakiness and unsteady walk, uncontrolled eye movements, unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination, unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness. Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them: Incidence not known, Diarrhea, dizziness or lightheadedness, feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings, hives or welts, itching, redness of the skin, sensation of spinning, stomach cramps or pain.

Medicine interaction:

Colimex Tablet 10's interact with cholesterol-lowering drugs (cholestyramine), charcoal, medicine to stop vomiting (domperidone), alcohol, anti-HIV drug (zidovudine), blood thinner (warfarin), corticosteroids, blood pressure-lowering medicine, drug to lower organ rejection (tacrolimus), anti-cancer or anti-arthritis drug (methotrexate), urinary alkalinizer (potassium citrate), potassium supplements may lead to drug toxicity or affect the working of Colimex Tablet 10's. So, contact a doctor before taking these medicines.
