Information about Clonil 25 Tablet

Description:

Clonil is used to treat obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). OCD is a nervous condition where a person has recurring thoughts or ideas, or does repetitive things because they are anxious. Clonil is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA). It is thought to work in the brain by increasing the Activity of the chemical serotonin.

Uses / Indications:

Clonil 25 Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: Treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder, Mood disorder.

Interactions / Warnings:

If you are allergic to CLONIL 25MG TABLET or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. CLONIL 25MG TABLET is not recommended for children below 17 years of age. Avoid taking CLONIL 25MG TABLET if you are pregnant as it may cause harm to the fetus. Avoid breastfeeding while taking CLONIL 25MG TABLET as CLONIL 25MG TABLET may be excreted in human milk and cause adverse effects in the baby. Therefore, please consult a doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy, or breastfeeding. CLONIL 25MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients as there is an increased risk of low sodium levels in the blood. If you have any self-harming or suicidal thoughts before taking CLONIL 25MG TABLET, inform your doctor as they may worsen in the initial days of taking CLONIL 25MG TABLET. Do not take CLONIL 25MG TABLET with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) such as moclobemide, tranylcypromine and phenelzine used to treat depression as it may cause severe adverse effects. Also, avoid taking CLONIL 25MG TABLET with buprenorphine as it may cause a serious life-threatening condition. If you have fits, low blood pressure, mania, glaucoma, difficulty in urination, a blood disorder, hyperthyroidism (overActive thyroid gland), severe constipation, pheochromocytoma (tumor of the adrenal gland), low potassium levels in blood, kidney, liver, or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking CLONIL 25MG TABLET.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Report any new or worsening symptoms to your doctor, such as: mood or behavior changes, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, irritable, agitated, hostile, aggressive, restless, hyperActive (mentally or physically), more depressed, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself. Call your doctor at once if you have: blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights, rapid heart rate, tremors or shaking, confusion, extreme fear, thoughts of hurting yourself, agitation, hallucinations, fever, overActive reflexes, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of coordination, fainting, painful or difficult urination, very stiff (rigid) muscles, seizure (convulsions), or tired feeling, weakness, easy bruising or bleeding (nosebleed, bleeding gums), pale skin, feeling light-headed or short of breath. Common side effects may include: dry mouth, Nausea, upset stomach, loss of appetite, constipation, feeling anxious, restless, dizzy, drowsy, or tired, sleep problems (insomnia), appetite or weight changes, memory problems, trouble concentrating, increased sweating, numbness or tingling, vision changes or decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm.

Medicine interaction:

CLONIL 25MG TABLET may have interaction with antiparkinson drug (selegiline, levodopa), antibiotic (pentamidine, rifampicin), antipsychotic drugs (pimozide), opioid pain killers (buprenorphine, morphine, codeine), blood thinners (warfarin), monoamine oxidase inhibitors used to treat depression (moclobemide, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), antidepressants (fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, amitriptyline, sertraline, venlafaxine, dothiepin, maprotiline), antimanic drug (lithium), anticonvulsants (phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, valproate), painkillers (aspirin), antacids (cimetidine), water tablets (furosemide), anti-allergic drug (terfenadine), medicines used to treat high blood pressure (betanidine, reSerpinane, guanethidine, clonidine), heart-related medicines (isoprenaline, amiodarone, quinidine, disopyramide, procainamide, epinephrine, diltiazem, verapamil), HIV drugs (ritonavir, indinavir).
