Exocin Eye Ointment 5gm belongs to the therapeutic classification of Quinolones, Anti-Infectives and Ophthalmic Agents, Anti-Infectives and Ear Medications. The primary composition for this medicine is Ofloxacin 0.3 %W/W.
Uses / Indications:
Exocin Eye Drops is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
Eye and ear infection
Urinary tract infections
Respiratory infections
Skin infections
Soft tissue infections
Sexually transmitted infections
Vaginal infections
Tuberculosis
Typhoid fever
Bacterial infections by inflammation of the peritoneum
Interactions / Warnings:
Do not take Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml if you are allergic or have had a severe reaction to ofloxacin or any other quinolone or fluoroquinolone antibiotics such as delafloxacin, gemifloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin, and ciprofloxacin. Taking Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml may increase the chances of developing tendinitis (swelling of a fibrous tissue that connects a bone to a muscle) or have a tendon rupture (tearing of a fibrous tissue that connects a bone to a muscle). Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had a kidney, heart, or lung transplant, kidney disease, a joint or tendon disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disorder of joints causing pain, swelling, and loss of function), seizures (fits), epilepsy or if you participate in regular physical Activity. Taking Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml may worsen muscle weakness in people with myasthenia gravis (a nervous system disorder that causes muscle weakness) and cause severe difficulty breathing or death. Dairy products should be avoided along with Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml. And also, exposure to sunlight should be avoided while taking Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml as it may cause increased phototoxicity or photosensitivity. Patients with epilepsy and irregular heartbeat (QT prolongation) should tell their doctor before taking Exocin Opthalmic Solution 5 ml.
