Valzaar is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure can reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Valzaar is also used to treat heart failure and left ventricular failure after a heart attack. Left ventricular failure occurs when the left side of the heart (the main pumping chamber) becomes stiff and enlarged or swollen. This causes pooling of blood in the lungs because the heart is not pumping properly. Valzaar is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten. Valzaar relaxes the blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. A lower blood pressure will increase the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart. Valzaar is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Do not take Valzaar-80 Tablet 15's if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you have severe liver disease, diabetes, impaired kidney function, or taking aliskiren. Inform your doctor before taking Valzaar-80 Tablet 15's if you have severe heart disease, aldosteronism, dehydration, liver or kidney disease, and taking medicines containing potassium, if you have undergone kidney transplantation or dailysis. Do not take Valzaar-80 Tablet 15's if you are pregnant as it may cause fetal harm. Consult your doctor before taking Valzaar-80 Tablet 15's if you are breastfeeding. Valzaar-80 Tablet 15's is not recommended for children below 6years as the efficacy and safety have not been established. Valzaar-80 Tablet 15's may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. Rise slowly from lying/sitting position as Valzaar-80 Tablet 15's may cause dizziness (orthostatic hypotension).
