Information about Tigatel 20 Tablet

Description:

Tigatel is an anti-epileptic medication, also called an anticonvulsant. Tigatel is used to alone or in combination with other medications to treat partial seizures in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. Tigatel may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Uses / Indications:

Tigatel 20 Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: High blood pressure Heart attack Heart failure Kidney failure in patients with diabetes

Interactions / Warnings:

Tigatel 20 Tablet 10's is not recommended for people with impaired kidney function, diabetes or severe liver problems. Tigatel 20 Tablet 10's may increase the risk of low blood pressure when taken with alcohol. Tigatel 20 Tablet 10's may cause tiredness or dizziness in some people. Make sure you are not affected before driving. Breastfeeding women are advised to consult a doctor before taking Tigatel 20 Tablet 10's. Avoid intake of potassium supplements with Tigatel 20 Tablet 10's as it may lead to high potassium levels in the blood, so the doctor may ask you to have a regular check of your potassium level. Do not consume alcohol with Tigatel 20 Tablet 10's as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure. Taking Tigatel 20 Tablet 10's with painkillers (like aspirin and ibuprofen) can increase the risk of kidney problems and reduced efficiency of Tigatel 20 Tablet 10's.

Side Effects:

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur: More common Blue or purple spots on skin difficulty in concentrating or paying attention Less common Burning, numbness, or tingling sensations clumsiness or unsteadiness confusion itching mental depression speech or language problems Rare Agitation bloody or cloudy urine burning, pain, or difficulty in urinating frequent urge to urinate generalized weakness hostility memory problems quick to react or overreact emotionally rash uncontrolled back-and-forth and/or rolling eye movements walking in unusual manner Symptoms of overdose Agitation (severe) clumsiness or unsteadiness (severe) coma confusion (severe) drowsiness (severe) increase in seizures mental depression severe muscle twitching or jerking sluggishness speech problems (severe) weakness Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them: More common Chills diarrhea dizziness drowsiness fever headache muscle aches or pain nervousness sore throat tremor unusual tiredness or weakness vomiting Less common Abdominal pain flushing impaired vision increased appetite increased cough mouth ulcers muscle weakness Nausea pain trouble in sleeping Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. Medicine interaction:

Tigatel 20 Tablet 10's may have interaction with pain killers (ibuprofen, aspirin), blood thinners (heparin), medicines used to treat heart problems (digoxin), high blood pressure-lowering medicines (lisinopril, enalapril, ramipril, benazepril, captopril, fosinopril, moexipril, perindopril, quinapril, trandolapril, enalaprilat, aliskiren), water pills (amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene), muscle relaxant (tizanidine), antibiotics (trimethoprim), and potassium supplements.
