Description:

Metoprolol (Telsar BETA) is a beta1-selective receptor blocker, i.e. Metoprolol (Telsar BETA) affects the beta1-receptors of the heart in lower doses than needed to affect beta2-receptors in peripheral vessels and bronchi. At increasing doses the beta1-selectivity may decrease.

Uses / Indications:

Telsar Beta 50 Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: High blood pressure Heart attack Heart failure Kidney failure in patients with diabetes Hypertension Cardiac arrhythmias Supraventricular arrhythmia Angina pectoris Hyperthyroidism Myocardial infarction

Interactions / Warnings:

Do not take Telsar Beta 50 Tablet 10's if you are allergic to telmisartan or metoprolol. Inform your doctor if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors, aliskiren, quinidine, disopyramide, or other blood pressure-lowering medicines. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking Telsar Beta 50 Tablet 10's. Telsar Beta 50 Tablet 10's is not recommended for children. Telsar Beta 50 Tablet 10's may cause dizziness and tiredness, so drive or operate heavy machinery only if you are alert. Keep your doctor informed if you have kidney or liver diseases, biliary obstruction, heart problems, low blood pressure, diabetes, elevated potassium levels, blood circulation problems, asthma, COPD, metabolic acidosis, phaeochromocytoma, slow heart rate, psoriasis, myasthenia gravis, or prinzmetal angina.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Metoprolol (Telsar BETA): hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have: very slow heartbeats, a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out, shortness of breath (even with mild exertion), swelling, rapid weight gain or cold feeling in your hands and feet. Common Metoprolol (Telsar BETA) side effects may include: dizziness, tired feeling, confusion, memory problems, nightmares, trouble sleeping, diarrhea or mild itching or rash.

Medicine interaction:

Telsar Beta 50 Tablet 10's may have interaction with medicines such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors, analgesics (aspirin, ibuprofen), anti-seizure (pregabalin), heart-related medicines (digoxin, flecainide), anti-depression drugs (lithium, fluvoxamine, sertraline, fluoxetine), and drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction (sildenafil).
