Description:

Omnitan 25mg Tablet belongs to the therapeutic classification of Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers. The primary composition for this medicine is Losartan 25 MG.

Uses / Indications:

Omnitan 25 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure. This medicine works by preventing the Activity of certain natural substances that tighten the blood vessels. This medicine helps by making blood flowing smoothly and the heart to pump more effectively. Omnitan 25 is also used to reduce the risk of stroke in high blood pressure patients with an enlarged heart, and to treat kidney damage due to diabetes. Omnitan 25 Tablet may also be used together with other medicines to treat certain conditions as recommended by the doctor. It is used in combination with Hydrochlorothiazide to reduce the risk of stroke in high blood pressure patients with an enlarged heart.

Interactions / Warnings:

If you have diabetes, kidney or liver problems, please inform your doctor before taking Omnitan 25 Tablet 15's. Omnitan 25 Tablet 15's is not recommended for pregnant women especially in second and third trimesters as it may cause serious harm to the unborn baby (fetus). Therefore, pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to consult a doctor before taking Omnitan 25 Tablet 15's. Do not consume alcohol with Omnitan 25 Tablet 15's as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure. Avoid potassium supplements with Omnitan 25 Tablet 15's as it may lead to high potassium levels in blood. Regular blood tests and blood pressure monitoring are recommended while taking Omnitan 25 Tablet 15's.

Side Effects:

Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. High potassium level. Signs include feeling weak, lightheaded, dizzy, feel like passing out, or have numbness or tingling. Loose stools (diarrhea). Cough. Kidney function that gets worse.

Medicine interaction:

Omnitan 25 Tablet 15's may have interaction with pain killers (ibuprofen, aspirin), high blood pressure lowering medicines (lisinopril, enalapril, ramipril, benazepril, captopril, fosinopril, moexipril, perindopril, quinapril, trandolapril, enalaprilat, aliskiren), water pills (amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene), blood thinners (heparin), muscle relaxant (tizanidine), antibiotics (trimethoprim), and potassium supplements.
