Description:
Hydrochlorothiazide (Olkem H) is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention.
Olmesartan (Olkem H) is in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Olmesartan (Olkem H) keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.
Olkem H is a combination medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

Uses / Indications:
Olkem 20 H Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
High blood pressure
Hypertension
Edema
Interactions / Warnings:
Olkem-20 H Tablet 15's should not be given to the people allergic to Olkem-20 H Tablet 15's, have low blood pressure (less than 90 mm of Hg), have had a heart attack, kidney disease, liver disease, pregnant women, or planning to get pregnant and breastfeeding women. Besides this, it is contraindicated in low blood pressure (hypotension), cardiogenic shock (sudden stopping of blood flow to the heart), and aortic stenosis (heart valve problem). Olkem-20 H Tablet 15's can pass into breast milk, but its effect on the baby is not known. So, it is better to tell your doctor if you are taking Olkem-20 H Tablet 15's and breastfeeding.
Side Effects:
Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
bloody or cloudy urine
blurred vision
chest pain
difficult, burning, or painful urination
flushed, dry skin
frequent urge to urinate
fruit-like breath odor
increased hunger
increased urination
joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
lower back, side, or stomach pain
rapid weight gain
sweating
swelling of the feet or lower legs
tingling of the hands or feet
troubled breathing
unexplained weight loss
unusual weight gain or loss

Swelling or puffiness of the face

decrease in the amount of urine
diarrhea (severe) with weight loss
dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Medicine interaction:
Olkem-20 H Tablet 15's may interact with other high blood pressure-lowering pills (benazepril, metoprolol, ramipril, hydrochlorothiazide, simvastatin, diltiazem, verapamil, azilsartan, benazepril, lisinopril, amiloride), and can lower your blood pressure leading to severe condition. Besides this, medicine to treat erectile dysfunction (sildenafil), antibiotics (Clarinathromycin, erythromycin, rifampicin), antifungal (itraconazole, ketoconazole), anti-HIV drugs (ritonavir), anti-epilepsy medicines (carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital, primidone), immune-suppressing drugs (cyclosporine, tacrolimus), and pain killers (ibuprofen, aspirin) should not be taken with Olkem-20 H Tablet 15's.
