Description:

Amlodipine (Metpure AM) is a calcium ion influx inhibitor (slow channel blocker or calcium ion antagonist) and inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into cardiac and vascular smooth muscle.

Uses / Indications:

Metpure AM Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: High blood pressure Kidney problems Chest pain Heart attack

Interactions / Warnings:

Hypersensitivity to Metpure AM Tablet is a contraindication. In addition, Metpure AM Tablet should not be used if you have the following conditions: Cardiogenic shock Heart block greater than first degree Hypersensitivity Liver insufficiency Overt cardiac failure Pregnancy Sinus bradycardia

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Amlodipine (Metpure AM): hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. In rare cases, when you first start taking Amlodipine (Metpure AM), your angina may get worse or you could have a heart attack. Seek emergency medical attention or call your doctor right away if you have symptoms such as: chest pain or pressure, pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder, Nausea, sweating. Call your doctor at once if you have: pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest, worsening chest pain, swelling in your feet or ankles, severe drowsiness or a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out. Common Amlodipine (Metpure AM) side effects may include: dizziness, feeling tired, stomach pain, Nausea or flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling).

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Metpure AM Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions.
