Information about Inditel Am Tablet

Description:

Inditel-AM is a combination of medicines that may be used alone or with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure can reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Telmisartan (Inditel-AM) is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten. As a result, the blood vessels relax and this decreases blood pressure. When blood pressure is lowered, the amount of blood and oxygen that go to the heart is increased. Amlodipine (Inditel-AM) is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). It affects the movement of calcium into the cells of the heart and blood vessels. As a result, Amlodipine (Inditel-AM) relaxes the blood vessels and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart while reducing its workload. Inditel-AM is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Uses / Indications:

Inditel Am Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure. This medicine works by blocking the action of vasoconstrictor agent which are responsible for increasing the blood pressure, by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to its binding site, angiotensin receptor. This medicine helps by reducing the increased blood pressure by exerting blocking actions on the angiotensin receptor. Inditel Am is also used to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, or fatalities associated with heart failure in patients who are 55 years in age or older, who are at high risk of developing major heart damage events unable to take ACE blockers and patients with high blood sugar level (type 2 diabetes mellitus) with target organ damage. Inditel Am Tablet may also be used together with other medicines to treat certain conditions as recommended by the doctor. It is used in combination with Antiplatelet drugs, or lipid-lowering drugs to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, or fatalities associated with heart failure in patients who are 55 years in age or older, who are at high risk of developing major heart damage events unable to take ACE blockers. It is also used with hydorchlorthiazide, or other antihypertensives to treat high blood pressure.

Interactions / Warnings:

Inditel Am Tablet 15's is not recommended for people with impaired kidney function, diabetes or severe liver problems. Inditel Am Tablet 15's may increase the risk of low blood pressure when taken with alcohol. Inditel Am Tablet 15's may cause tiredness or dizziness in some people. Make sure you are not affected before driving. Breastfeeding women are advised to consult a doctor before taking Inditel Am Tablet 15's. Avoid intake of potassium supplements with Inditel Am Tablet 15's as it may lead to high potassium levels in the blood, so the doctor may ask you to have a regular check of your potassium level. Do not consume alcohol with Inditel Am Tablet 15's as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure. Taking Inditel Am Tablet 15's with painkillers (like aspirin and ibuprofen) can increase the risk of kidney problems and reduced efficiency of Inditel Am Tablet 15's.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Inditel-AM: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. In rare cases, Inditel-AM can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure. Call your doctor right away if you have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness especially if you also have fever, unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine. Call your doctor at once if you have: a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out, shortness of breath (even with mild exertion), swelling, rapid weight gain, new or worsened chest pain, pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest, tremors, muscle stiffness or twitching or high potassium - Nausea, slow or unusual heart rate, weakness, loss of movement. Common Inditel-AM side effects may include: swelling in your hands or feet, fast or pounding heartbeats, dizziness, flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling), back pain or Nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain.

Medicine interaction:

Inditel Am Tablet 15's may have interaction with pain killers (ibuprofen, aspirin), blood thinners (heparin), medicines used to treat heart problems (digoxin), high blood pressure-lowering medicines (lisinopril, enalapril, ramipril, benazepril, captopril, fosinopril, moexipril, perindopril, quinapril, trandolapril, enalaprilat, aliskiren), water pills (amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene), muscle relaxant (tizanidine), antibiotics (trimethoprim), and potassium supplements.
