Information about Gudpres-AM 50 Tablet

Description:

Amlodipine (Gudpres-AM) is a calcium ion influx inhibitor (slow channel blocker or calcium ion antagonist) and inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into cardiac and vascular smooth muscle.

Uses / Indications:

Gudpres-AM 50 PR Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: Hypertension, Coronary artery disease, Chronic stable angina, Vasospastic angina, Angina pectoris, Heart failure.

Interactions / Warnings:

Don't stop taking the medication without talking to your doctor first. Stopping GUDPRES AM 50MG TABLET gradually may cause changes in your heart rhythm and blood pressure, cause chest pain, or a heart attack. Your doctor will lower your dose gradually over a period of time to help prevent these symptoms. GUDPRES AM 50MG TABLET can cause low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia). This medication should be used with caution if you have diabetes, particularly if you are taking insulin or other diabetes drugs that may cause low blood sugar. This medication can also induce low blood sugar in babies, children and adults who do not have diabetes. Do not take GUDPRES AM 50MG TABLET if you have asthma or similar breathing difficulties. It could make your asthma severe.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Amlodipine (Gudpres-AM): hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. In rare cases, when you first start taking Amlodipine (Gudpres-AM), your angina may get worse or you could have a heart attack. Seek emergency medical attention or call your doctor right away if you have symptoms such as: chest pain or pressure, pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder, Nausea, sweating. Call your doctor at once if you have: pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest, worsening chest pain, swelling in your feet or ankles, severe drowsiness or a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out. Common Amlodipine (Gudpres-AM) side effects may include: dizziness, feeling tired, stomach pain, Nausea or flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling).

Medicine interaction:

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Gudpres-AM 50 PR Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Gudpres-AM 50 PR Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products: CYP3A4 inhibitors, Clonidine, Cyclosporine, Fluoxetine, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Paroxetine, Propafenone, Quinidine, ReSerpinane.
