Fruselac DS is used in combination with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. Lowering blood pressure can reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Fruselac DS is also used to diagnose and treat hyperaldosteronism, a condition in which the adrenal gland produces too much hormone called aldosterone. Fruselac DS may also be used to treat fluid retention (edema) in patients with congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or a kidney disorder called nephrotic syndrome. Fruselac DS is a potassium-sparing diuretic (water pill). It prevents your body from absorbing too much salt and keeps your potassium levels from getting too low. Fruselac DS is also used to treat or prevent hypokalemia (low potassium levels in the blood).

Fruselac DS Tablet 10's should not be given to the people allergic to Fruselac DS Tablet 10's, have low blood pressure (less than 90 mm of Hg), have had a heart attack, kidney disease (with creatinine clearance less than 30 mL/min), liver disease, pregnant women, or planning to get pregnant and breastfeeding women. Besides this, it is contraindicated in low blood pressure (hypotension), cardiogenic shock (sudden stopping of blood flow to the heart), and aortic stenosis (heart valve problem). Fruselac DS Tablet 10's can pass into breast milk, but its effect on the baby is not known, so it is better to tell your doctor if you are taking Fruselac DS Tablet 10's and breastfeeding. Fruselac DS Tablet 10's may cause vocal changes so special attention must be given to the patients using Fruselac DS Tablet 10's and whose voice is significant for their work (like actors, singers, or teachers). Hypovolaemia or dehydration with electrolyte and acid-base disturbances must be corrected before using Fruselac DS Tablet 10's.
