Dilzem is used alone or together with other medicines to treat angina (severe chest pain) or hypertension (high blood pressure). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. High blood pressure may also increase the risk of heart attacks. These problems may be less likely to occur if blood pressure is controlled. Dilzem is a calcium channel blocker. It works by affecting the movement of calcium into the cells of the heart and blood vessels. As a result, Dilzem relaxes the blood vessels and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart while reducing its workload.

Do not take Dilzem 60 Tablet 15's if you are allergic to any of its contents. Talk to your doctor if you have heart, kidney or liver problems. Dilzem 60 Tablet 15's may sometimes cause a decrease in heart rate, especially in people with pre-existing heart conditions. People with low blood pressure (hypotension), lung fluid buildup (pulmonary oedema), liver disease, and other heart problems like heart failure, slow heart rate, heart blockage should avoid taking Dilzem 60 Tablet 15's and should take advice from a doctor. Avoid taking Dilzem 60 Tablet 15's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; talk to your doctor, he/she may prescribe you with alternate medicine. Dilzem 60 Tablet 15's is not recommended for children below 18 years of age as the efficacy and safety have not been established. Taking Dilzem 60 Tablet 15's increases the chance of getting a sunburn. To avoid this, apply a sun protectant while going outside. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, electrolyte levels and kidney functioning is advised while taking Dilzem 60 Tablet 15's.
